Card #1 - Snow Much Love
Steps to create this card:
Choose complementary colours for with either traditional Christmas colours or modern Christmas colours - go through your scrap cards.
Cut the chosen coloured cards into to strips. I use the Tim Holtz Tonic Studio Guilotine to cut the card strips into quarter inch widths by using the grid lines on the guillotine as a guide. Note: The card strips do not have to be the same width, widths can vary, if preferred.
However if you do not want to use a guillotine, use dies that cuts strips. Suggested dies that card cut into strips as follows:
PINKFRESH STUDIO Slim Stripes Die Set
STUDIO KATIA Halftone Lines Cover Die
SIMON SAYS STAMP Strips 1 Wafer Dies
SIMON SAYS STAMP Strips 2 Wafer Dies
WAFFLE FLOWER Slimline Stripes Dies
WAFFLE FLOWER Horizontal Stripes Dies
WAFFLE FLOWER Vertical Stripes Dies
Cover a copier paper measuring 4 1/4” by 5 1/2” with an adhesive sheet.
Adhere the card strips at an angle on the adhesive covered copier paper.
Use WAFFLE FLOWER A2 Layers Die set to trim panel with card strips to slightly smaller than A2.
Place MAMA ELEPHANT Big Snow Much Love Creative Cuts in the centre of the card panel and put through die cutting machine. If it does not cut through all the way, put through die cutting machine again with some additional shims (Caution: Do not force through the die cutting machine as it could damage your machine). If some bits are still not cut through, use a cutting board and craft knife to release the sentiment die cut from panel.
Also cut out additional die cuts of the MAMA ELEPHANT Big Snow Much Love Creative Cuts in white cardstock (3 pieces) and metallic silver cardstock (1 piece).
Take one of the white cardstock die cuts and align against the negative die cut of the cards strips panel.
Turn panel with die cut in position and adhere an adhesive sheet on the back of the panel, this holding together the card strips panel with the sentiment die cut in it. Then flip over and adhere to the bits between the sentiment has exposed adhesive. Insert the inlays with the bits of the card strip panel that fell out when the sentiment was die cut.
Then layer the further two white die cuts on the one already on the card strip panel, and finally adhere the metallic silver die cut on - there will be dimension of the sentiment.
Adhere some fun foam to the back of the card strip panel with the die cut sentiment for sturdiness and dimension.
Attach the card panel to an A2 side folding base card and add some die cut snowflakes to front of the card.
Card #2: Merry and Bright
Steps to create this card:
Follow the steps #1 to #9 of Card #1, except use MAMA ELEPHANT Big Merry and Bright Creative Cuts for the sentiment die.
If you do not have adhesive sheet, align sentiment die cut into the card strip panel (which is effectively the negative die cut), turn over and hold in palm of hand. Apply liquid glue to back of the negative die cut and the sentiment die cut, flip over and adhere to A2 side folding card base.
Insert the inlays with the bits of the card strip panel that fell out when the sentiment was die cut.
Then layer the further two white die cuts on the one already on the card strip panel, and finally offset the positive sentiment die cut of the rainbow card strip panel on the white sentiment die cut.
Pop up with foam strips some die cut Christmas bulb die cuts to front of the card.
Finally add some dew drop gems with liquid glue using a Marvy Uchida Jewel Picker.
