Resist watercolouring with heat embossed images

This post showcases the watercolour cards for the Waffle Flower Challenge with the theme of watercolour resist. The main stamp and die I used in the four cards I created is the Waffle Flower Tender Blooms Combo.

Watch the video below that shows how I created these cards.

Sending You Sunshine

Stamp Waffle Flower Tender Blooms Stamp on Canson Watercolour Paper with Versafine Onyx Ink, sprinkle clear embossing powder and heat emboss with heat gun.

Watercolour with Twinking H2O paints - colours used are Chestnut Brown, Cinnamon Stick, Pink Cloud, Playful Peony, Egyptian Gold, Yellow Rose, Orange Peel, Moss Green, Golden Jade, Blue Grass, Key Lime, Icy Iris, Bougainvillea and Sky Blue.

Use Waffle Flower A2 Layer dies to trim watercolour paper to A2 size. Then use SSS A2 Thin Frames die to cut a frame which I also cut in black cardstock to create the black frame.

Stamp ‘Sending You Sunshine’ from Altenew Paint-A-Flower Sunflower stamp set in Versafine Black Onyx ink.

Add fun foam behind the centre rectangle to provide some dimension. Add some black gems to complete card.

Thank You

Stamp Waffle Flower Tender Blooms Stamp on Canson Watercolour Paper with Versamark Ink, sprinkle clear embossing powder and heat emboss with heat gun.

Watercolour with Altenew Artists’ Watercolor 24 pan set. First apply clear water to places that you want to apply watercolour, this is the wet on wet technique. Then apply watercolour onto those areas. Let the watercolour dry between applications especially if the application is going to be adjacent to one another. Once dry, die cut floral arrangement with matching Waffle Flower Tender Blooms Die. Die cut the floral arrangement another three times with scrap paper and adhere to watercoloured image to provide some dimension.

Then prepare the background on an A2 card base by ink blending with Rangers Distress Oxide inks in the following order: Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey, and Mustard Seed.

Adhere watercoloured floral arrangement to ink blended card base with liquid glue with metal fine tip. Then stamp thank you with Versafine Black Onyx ink and die cut using the Waffle Flower Sentiment Additions Combo and adhere to card.

Finish card with some colourless dew drops gems.
