No line watercolouring for beginners

This post is a card on no line watercolouring (NLWC) for beginners as I am a beginner myself - so let’s learn together. I am submitting this card for the Unicorn Blog Challenge, Use Flowers.

Initially painted flower arrangement

Initially I painted the first three flowers with Mijello Mission watercolours and the last flower with distress inks (candied apple, spiced marmalade, fossilized amber and walnut stain). After completing I thought the colours of the last three flowers were too similar and decided to change the thirs flower - see below.

Corrective flower

Here I painted another flower separately with distress inks ( peacock feathers, fossilized amber, mermaid lagoon and blueprint sketch) and die cut to adhere to the original stampled flower arrangement with square foam pads to provide dimension.

Spritz the remaining distress ink on my mat with water and shmoozed by card on it to create the background. Fussy cut the entire flower arrangement on initial panel, adhered the painted poppies to the card and splattered with white gouache. Finished with sentiment from Altenew Rose Bloom stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Used the same stamp set and this time I only used distress ink to paint. Used Waffle Flower A2 Layer dies set to cut out the panel and prop up with some red foam for dimension and interest.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day.
